AI Focus and your privacy

Last verified: September 2026

Here's exactly what AI Focus captures and where it goes. It's what FocusDragon shows you before your first AI block.

What's captured

  • Every 10 to 20 seconds while a block you started is running (less often once your plan's monthly allowance is used up), AI Focus takes a screenshot of your whole screen, every display if you have more than one.
  • Screenshots are shrunk down before they're sent anywhere.
  • This only happens during a block you started. AI Focus never watches your screen otherwise.

Where it goes

  • Screenshots pass through FocusDragon's own server, which never stores or logs them.
  • They're then sent to our AI model provider under a zero-data-retention agreement, and are never used to train any model.
  • The one exception: the provider may keep an image its child-safety scanner flags.

What's included

A screenshot shows whatever is on screen at that moment, including other people's messages, emails and video calls.

Password fields

If a password field is focused when a check is due, AI Focus skips that screenshot.

Your local log

Each time AI Focus quits something, it keeps the two screenshots behind that decision on your own Mac for 7 days, so you can see why, then deletes them. That log never leaves your Mac.

Age

AI Focus is for people 18 and over. This is a declared limit; we do not ask for or verify your age.

The AI Focus section of the privacy policy covers the same ground: focusdragon.app/privacy#ai-focus-v2
